Kyle Timmermeyer
I'm a Catholic, a novelist, an ESL teacher, a Japanese language buff, and Bucketman.
I have been writing since I was first able to tell stories. I wrote most of the epic Squoosh Man and Bucket Man series when I was in elementary school, and became Bucketman at an 8th grade Halloween party. At about the same time, I began working on a novel entitled The Legend of the Elementals, a book I have been working on for over a decade now.
After graduating from the University of Kansas with a BA in English (Creative Writing) and 3 years of Japanese classes, I taught English in Nagasaki, Japan for 2 years on the JET Programme. I created my own curriculum for Yagami Elementary on the east side of Nagasaki City, and revamped the oral tests at nearby Higashi Nagasaki Junior High School.
As I improved my survival, conversation, and business-level Japanese, I took advantage of a volunteer opportunity, and have now been regularly publishing Japanese-to-English translations of articles for Japan Catholic News Online for over a year.
